Reem's research for the next album (dedicated to the work of Egyptian composer Sayyid Darwish 1892-1923) is on-going, and she is working hard to secure funding to begin recording. Reem spent summer 2009 working in the Assad National Library in Damascus and interviewing local musicians and historians about the Syrian influence on Darwish's music. A further research trip to Egypt is planned in early 2010. Reem has been busy road testing the songs in her live performances and registering copyrights. For a taster, listen to Reem's WOMAD 2007 concert in Audio & Video.

A’ Gharaids, the series made for BBC Alba in which Reem teamed up with Gaelic singer Catriona Watt, was nominated for the Media award at the MG Alba Traditional Music Awards 2009.
